SmackDown is a professional wrestling television program produced by WWE. It airs live every Friday at 8 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on Fox. Fox Deportes simulcasts the program with Spanish-language commentary. The show features characters from the SmackDown brand, to which WWE employees are assigned to work and perform. The show is considered to be one of two flagship shows, along with Monday Night Raw.

SmackDown premiered on April 29, 1999, as a weekly one-hour show on UPN. It was originally broadcast on Thursday nights, but moved to Fridays in 2005. In 2008, SmackDown moved to MyNetworkTV, but returned to Fridays on Fox in 2019.

SmackDown has been home to some of WWE’s biggest stars, including The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, John Cena, and Roman Reigns. The show has also been the site of some of WWE’s most memorable moments, such as The Rock’s return at WrestleMania XXVIII and John Cena’s win over Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2014.

The current SmackDown champion is Roman Reigns. He defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 to win the title. The current SmackDown Women’s Champion is Io Shirai. She defeated Charlotte Flair at Money in the Bank to win the title.

The next episode of SmackDown will air on August 26, 2023, on Fox. The show will be held at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The main event of the show will be a Last Man Standing match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.
